Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are open from 7.30am to 6.30pm.

Our standard day is from 8am to 6pm. However, you can sign up for Early Bird sessions which start at 7.30am and/or Night Owl sessions which finish at 6.30pm.

Early Birds and Night Owls can form part of your regular booking pattern or can be booked as one-off’s subject to availability and provided you give at least 24 hours notice.

  • We organise our nursery day into sessions. We call these full day and half-day sessions. Half-day sessions consist of a morning (AM) session or an afternoon (PM) session.

    • Morning session: 8am to 1pm

    • Afternoon session: 1pm to 6pm

    • Full day session: 8am to 6pm

  • Morning sessions include breakfast (served until 8.30am), a morning snack and lunch.

Afternoon sessions include an afternoon snack and tea.

  • We cater for allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences. Our nursery manager will ensure your child has a healthy and balanced diet which meets their needs.

  • Yes we do! Please get in touch for more information on how we offer funded childcare.

Please note that government funded sessions do not include access to our full range of services that parents paying privately receive. Government funded sessions do not include meals and snacks, consumables (e.g. sun cream) extra-curricular clubs, activities and events, access to our Early Childhood Platform or our full range of session options. These can, however, be accessed for a fee.

Once your child is eligible for funded childcare, nursery discounts (e.g. full-time and sibling-discounts) no longer apply.

Our participation in the government funded scheme does not guarantee the availability of a place.

  • Please check out the childcare choices hub to check if you are eligble:

    https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

  • Fees are calculated at a fixed monthly rate based on your child’s weekly sessions. This is calculated by the number of weekly sessions x 52 weeks, divided by 12 to produce equal monthly payments.

  • Starting nursery can present lots of new experiences for your child. This may be confusing to start with, especially if your child is used to spending most of their time with you.

To help your child settle into nursery, we offer free settling-in visits before your planned start date. These sessions enable your child to familiarise themselves with our routines and for both of you to get to know your key person and our team.

  • Keeping your child safe is our priority. Some of our measures include:

All our staff are subject to an enhanced Police DBS Check. They receive regular training which includes safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid.

Regular risk assessments and  audits are carried out to ensure the premises and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.

We carry out regular fire drills with the children so they become familiar with the routine.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff, contractors and visitors to share this commitment. We therefore have robust policies and procedures in place. These apply to everyone visiting the setting whether it is staff, students, volunteers or parents/carers.

Our team read through all our policies and procedures as part of their induction and stay up-to-date with developments as part of our ‘policy refresher programme’. Our team has a duty and responsibility to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to at all times as stated in the terms and conditions of their contract of employment.

Below is a list of a few of our policies:

    • Administration of medicine

    • CCTV and Security

    • Child Protection

    • Communicable diseases and exclusion

    • Complaints procedure

    • Equal opportunities

    • First aid

    • Food and drink

    • Health and safety

    • Key person

    • Ratio and supervision of children

    • Safeguarding children

    • SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability)

    • Settling in

  • In order to ensure every child in the nursery is given the appropriate level of attention and care, a key person is appointed for each child. A key person is a named member of staff assigned to an individual child to support their development and act as the key point of contact with that child’s parents/carers. The key person has special responsibilities for working with a small number of children and helps build and develop positive relationships with children and between parents/carers and staff.

Your Key Person is your initial, but not exclusive, point of contact with the nursery. Other team members will also maintain contact with as it is unlikely that the key person will always be on duty every time a child is brought to or collected from nursery. If a key person is away, ill or on annual leave, their key children will be observed by other team-members in the room in accordance with the nursery’s buddy system.

  • From highly qualified and experienced practitioners to talented apprentices, our team is a diverse and dedicated group. Each classroom will have a senior member of staff leading it at all times.
